The Muse visits the Zeus Altar of Perganum
In Pergamon, capital of the Hellenistic Kingdom of the Attalides stood the Ionic temple complex, which was also the sanctuary of Dionysos. That is where the great Zeus altar was, placed on a seventy metre long flattened stone platform. This elevated platform, partly clad with stairs, had, at its sides, walls with extensively embellished friezes. The photo friezes of the Muse and a projection in this complex bring two Myths together.
